As the subject suggests, having issues deciding which methodology I should follow for this upcoming training block. Pretty experienced runner, ran NYC in 2021 in 3:00:XX on 35-45 mpw with 2-3 peak weeks at 50-60. 2022-3 were inconsistent and injury prone but ended 2023 with a 1:27 half in Philly and recently ran 1:28 at about 80-90% effort.
Today marks ~17 weeks until Berlin where I was able to snag a charity entry. I want to follow a structured plan but don't know where to start. My training history suggests I don't need to run high mileage to see results. For example, last few months leading up to this 1:28 ran 25-35 mpw with one week at 40).
TLDR: Which plans (pfitz, JD, anything else) will get me in 2:55 shape running 30-50 a week? The templates I see online for popular plans seem crazy, e.g. Pfitz 18/55 has a 13 mi LR with 8 mi at MP in week 2? Do I just need to suck it up and run more/run faster?
Thanks in advance to anyone chimes in. Happy to give more context as needed
