This was the guy who closed in 54 to go from last to first in the state champs last year. 46.4 with NXN xc ability suggests that he would be a 1:46 frosh at Texas A and M or NAU with competent coaching and top training partners. I hope it works out similarly at Duke.
It was 46.42 or 46.5, not 46.4. Round up correctly please.
🤓 ☝ Um, aktually, it was 46.42, not 46.4. Round up korrectly pleash!!
It is only 46.42 if you accept relay splits as FAT. Many don't accept them as FAT because there are lots of timers that don't carefully place the hash line on the runners torso when taking splits. They just get the splits done quickly. Some time the baton. Also, where do you time the split when both runners are still holding the baton when they cross the finish line? Many still record "FAT" relay splits to the tenth since there is no accepted method for timing splits in every situation. Not all timers do it the same way. So splits will not be accurate to the hundredth in every situation.
What a close! side note: were the cicadas really that loud? Can hardly hear the announcer, a bit annoying.
I left after the 300h, but yeah, they were quite loud. More annoying were bored high schoolers collecting the bugs or pulling them apart in the stands though.
