Many years ago our coach had us do 2 mile warmup followed by 400 repeats. The pattern was 400 in 70 sec. followed by 400 in 90 sec. once you did not complete a 70 sec 400 he would yell “breakout” at which you left the track and did a cooldown. This is very similar to Oregon coach Bowerman’s 40/30 program. I thuoght our program was also from Oregon but can’t find a reference to that. thoughts?
