I ran a 4:16 1600 pretty much solo 3 weeks ago without a ton of speed work and with a very hard workout 2 days prior. Today I ran a 4:26 in a race where I should have been around 4:11-4:12. I’ve had pretty bad allergies that make my throat close up the past week which I think are the problem, but I’m also slightly skeptical they would decrease my performance that much. I’m going to see a doctor about this, but I was wondering if anyone had firsthand experience with midseason allergies.
