The 1500m just seems like the best event to follow right now. You've got Jakob, who was easily the World's #1 distance runner last year, broke a bunch of WRs, got gold in the 5k, but lost Worlds in the 1500, and has been injured so we don't know where he's at . You have Josh Kerr, who is now a world champ, broke the 2-mile WR indoors, and got gold in the 3k. You have Wightman, who is looking really good after losing last year to injury. You have Nuguse who's coming off running less than a second in the indoor (3:47) and outdoor (3:43) miles, and a silver in the 3k.
Then you have a ton of storylines to follow after that. For Europeans (and everyone tbh) There's the lovely trash talk between Kerr and Jingy, plus Laros looking like he might be the next Jakob. For US fans, there's Hocker and Kessler, two young guys who have now medaled on the world stage and are looking to replicate that at the Olympics. For Oceania fans, Olli Hoare is back and looking good after losing last year to injury. He was a strong #2 almost every time out on the DL circuit in 2022. Geordie Beamish just won gold in the indoor 1500 (although he'll be doing the steeple at Worlds). Plus Cam Myers is looking like he might be the next Jakob.
Seems like the only way they could make it better is by completely scrapping the 1500m and replacing it with the superior event, the mile.
