I'm typically not a great runner in the heat despite being relatively light (5'11", 135 pounds). I've run poorly in heat since my freshman year of high school and it's never changed.
Today was my first hard workout since I began building base again 2 months ago, running 3x 1600 at about 5000 effort with full rest (3:30), averaging 4:41 with ± 2 second variance. Weather was 75 degrees and 68% humidity with direct sun and negligible wind. Pace felt truly like 5000 pace even with the heat.
How much would the heat have affected me?
