US women’s steeple continues to be more interesting
US women’s steeple continues to be more interesting
Oh dang! The field is wide open for sure. Wonder if Colleen Quigley would jump back in the mix.

Example #2 as to why the steeple is for people too slow in the 1500 and 5000
Very rough spring for US steeplechasers. Emma Coburn gets season-ending ankle injury in Suzhou, now Courtney Frerichs is out after tearing her ACL during practice. Both injuries the result of awkward landings in the water pit.
Very sorry for her.
Rant: If the injury happened last month, why are we just finding out about it now?? I hate the way this sport continually leaves fans in the dark about how athletes are doing.
I think Quigkey is done. But this does make the trials more interesting. I like Gear and Wayment - they’ve both hit some good PBs so far this year. Third spot seems more open - Jennings? Markezich?
Hate to see it for any athlete. Allie O is making the team #theunwashingofallieo
The steeple's not good for aging:(

Constien, Bozeman?
so sad for her, that's gotta be devastating getting injured so close to the Olympics.
Gear, Wayment, and it's absolutely wide open. Logan Jolly (Gears teammate at Arkansas) looked good at the LA Grand Prix last week.
The way steeplechasers are getting injured this year, our steeplechase team may end up being Allie Ostrander, Colleen Quigley, and Karrie Baloga.
There’s 4 at Pre next weekend - will be good to see how they race in a pretty good field. Wonder if there will be a late add to replace Frerichs on the start line
Valerie Constien (USA)
Kristlin Gear (USA)
Kaylee Mitchell (USA)
Courtney Wayment (USA)

She's too far removed from this event with her swimming and cycling

Whoa! Frerichs said she tore the ACL. She didn't say anything about MCL and LCL. She said she had two meniscus tears. Which is it?

I don’t see how one of the best runners being injured, makes the OT steeplechase more interesting.
Track & Field can be very humbling and heartbreaking. Hopefully, she can regain her fitness and finish her career with some strong performances leading into Los Angeles 2028.
interesting in that the field is not going to be frerichs, coburn and whoever wins the battle for the 3rd spot. its a battle for all three now.
Since it's in Oregon, Teare should definitely run the steeple now!!! Just kidding..... Oregon State meet fiasco and Thread about Cooper doing the steeple,🙄🙄🙄🙄
Training with Puma Elite destroys another athlete.
They have more athletes that are hurt than they do healthy.
