We preview a huge weekend of track including the USATF LA Grand Prix, adidas Atlanta City Games, Night of the 10,000m PBs, and Marrakech Diamond League. Grab some snacks and make sure the fridge is stocked.
1:46 I bet. If he were in shape you’d think he’d run a decent 400 in 45 earlier. The one positive thing was Jonah Koech shared a photo of them training together.

1:46 I feel would be relatively positive, I'll say 1:48

You might be right. The guy basically can run 1:48 off of no training, so if he does that I’d be pretty wary he’s barely running. 1:46 indicates limited buildup/rust. Anything is faster and watch out. Do you think Kemei will compete out of country at all? Bit surprised he didn’t go to Pre or this race? But he doesn’t really need to if he prefers to stick to local competition.

Kemei ran today in Germany, narrowly lost in 1:45 low to James Preston. So not amazing but maybe he'll get another race soon
The commentator really said you have to go back to 2019 since a non-Kenyan won a global final in the men's 800. Marco Arop, a Canadian, won last year. Do better.
Yep, a new level of awful for Korir back in 1:52. Wanyonyi was businesslike with another dub but didn’t look amazing nor did he look too happy with the result. Kinyamal has finished 2nd in all 3 DL 800s so far. Yanis Meziane of France, “the French freak,” with a very fine opener; Ben Pattison ok but nothing thrilling.

Yep, I’d thought about mentioning that and glad you did. C’mon, Ato.

He got a dreadful start off the line. That used to happen to him often, but he much improved that last year. The chance of a fast time was pretty much gone when Pattison got the pole and everyone ran conservatively behind him. Much different than LA where Kibet/Miller went for it.
It’s not good. Meziane/Maselela running tactical 1:44.1s is a good sign for them. The semis as usual are gonna be cutthroat this year. Can see a huge group behind Arop/Wanyonyi in the 1:43lo-mid range (Hoppel, Masalela, Meziane, Moula, Sedjati, Kinyamal, Pattison, Tecuceanu I like)
The race went very well and I am pleased with my performance today despite the wind being somewhat an obstacle. I appreciated the enthusiastic support from the crowd even though it was a little bit loud. Now, I will prepare for my next race in Eugene and I might participate in Paris and Monaco as well before performing in the Olympic games in which my main goal is to win a medal.
Is there a race in Eugene idk about!? If he gets into the Bowerman mile over Kipsang that’d be awesome

Come on guys, just get VPN set it to Japan or France and watch the international feed from the diamond league YouTube channel. The coverages are great including full coverages of the distance events in every meet. You deserve better than the bs that NBC put out.
