Some people here are saying that Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone running the 200 in 22.07 with a .548 reaction time means that she could have run 21.7 or 21.8 if she had a good reaction time. That's not true.
There were several starting blocks used at the meet that were calibrated incorrectly, resulting in reaction times being recorded that were much slower than the runners actually reacted. The faulty reaction times were between .50 up to .61 . Sydney was one of the runners who got a faulty starting block.
It's impossible to say what Sydney's real reaction time was, but based on the video it seemed to be about average.
In any case, 22.07 is a very good time, especially considering the fact that it's not her main event.
