If I'm injured for a month (estimate for my current situation), and I've ran 65-75 MPW for the past 5 months (aside from 3 weeks separate down weeks), what mileage might I return at post-injury?
I'm thinking of starting with 20 and building up from there. Too high?
i'm fairly certain it's either my peroneal tendon or cuboid bone.
After an AM run (on a supposed double day), I had a weird type of soreness / niggle on my ankle. Couple hours later, hurt to walk on it. Felt like a small sting sort of as if I twisted my ankle, but I never did.
Hasn't gone away fully since, though was able to race my peak 3200m race, discomfort is still there and hasn't gotten significantly worse. I skipped on my peak 1600m, bc I didn't want to risk being out for longer.
Going to see a doctor this Wednesday just in case.
I can put full weight on the ankle/foot, but I feel a mild "pinch" on the outside of my right foot when I do put weight on it (if you check , that's the general area).
It isn't soreness, I guess you could call it pain but it's pretty mild pain. Yet it's still significant enough that it stops me from running regular volume as I suspect it'll get worse.
did i stutter? zero common sense. assuming any of this is real.
(a) you didn't really shut down to fully heal
(b) you aren't healed
(c) you had an overuse issue and without even healing it you're like let me start running mileage cold again
(d) if i have a "contact" accidental injury -- someone trips me in soccer, i hit a hurdle and fall -- i just get fit and go. i just need to heal. i don't need to think about how i am running my show. if i have an overuse injury, if i have a brain, i reconsider or approach differently how i was doing things before i just repeat it.
(e) and i definitely heal an overuse injury before i start again
