Can collegiate and / or school records be set in track & field post NCAA / NJCAA / NAIA National Championships for college athletes that continue to compete through the summer (national championships, Olympic Trials, Grand Prix meet, etc.)? At what point would the window end for a season (Sept 1st for example)?

Todd Harbour ran a 3:50 in Oslo in 1981 and was credited with the collegiate record for a long time but his time is no longer credited as the collegiate record.
I believe any record set up until the NCAA Championships will count as an official record. Any set after that will be listed as the "All Dates" record. Example: Jennifer Simpson still holds the collegiate record for the 1500 but Addy Wiley's time from September last year is the All Dates record.
My personal feelings are as long as someone is still in college, the record should count regardless of when it is set. If the person has graduated, then it should not count for a collegiate record. Sometimes great times are run by Australians in our winter (their summer) that don't count. Jessica Hull had that situation.
Didn't Henry Rono set some World Records during the summer of 1978 while he was still a student athlete at Washington State University?
could make the USTFCCCA "all-dates all-times" list, but not their normal records, and not TF news' list which both cut off end of the college season. NCAA i think only keeps championship meet records.
