three things stick out to me here:
1. the incredibly fast time
2. the fact that this team has 3 sophomores on it
3. this is the first non-texas HS team to ever break 40 in the 4x100

Update:
American Heritage just had 4 guys go 21.1 or faster into a headwind
Big deal. Private school. Can recruit whoever they want.
If a public school did it, that's interesting. Just four kids from the neighborhood. Not this.
A private school hater eh. How about let talent shine where it's rooted.
You probably don't like NIL either but the fact is they compete within the rules in Florida, have great coaching and are getting good educations that raises the bar for a good many. Like this post, your brush is way too wide.
I'm happy for and have no quarrel with the kids. Let them get the best education and coaching available.
In no way however should a private school that recruits be competing against public schools. That's just stupid.
I think it could have been phrased better but I agree. I remember watching the points tally up on Thursday during the 2a meet and thinking "wow, does everyone else really have to compete against Moteverde, who recruits the best and fastest from all over the United States?"
Like, the rest of Florida was lucky that MVA decided not to go the state route last year, and that 90% of their boys team was out injured. If you thought that 38.92 from Texas this year was fast, wait till you see what that team probably could have done.
They had:
Micah Larry 10.25/21.0/25'11 in 2022, 6.60ish in early 2023
Zyaire Nuriddin 10.27/21.0/45.7 in 2022, 6.60ish in early 2023
Issam Asinga 9.83/19.9 in 2023
Jayvian Greene 10.4/21.0/46.x in 2023
That is at minimum, a team that runs 38.3ish and 3:05
