What a stupid thread. Engelhardt already beat Hedengren easily in the mile at Arcadia. And Hedengren herself isn't running the mile at Brooks PR. And for Brooks, Engelhardt switched from a sure victory in the mile to the 800 where she might easily lose.

Yeah Ince has a much better chance to beat Engelhardt at an 800 than Hedengren does at a mile. If anything this is Engelhardt challenging herself more. Hedengren got smoked the last 400 at Arcadia.

Sorry I’m with the original poster. Arcadia was early season. Hedengren get the win now and bigger talent. Sadie ducks big competition.

I dont think anyone is questioning if Hedengren could beat Engelhardt in a 2 mile. I haven't seen anything at any point to suggest Hedengren can touch a 4:31 though.

Yes she was for sure dodging competition by entering the pro race.
Jane Hedengren Hands down wins. She never runs races she has a chance at losing. Hence she dropped out of Brooks PR last year
Do you think it might be possible NOT to turn into the Jets and Sharks again over prep/college female runners? I think obsessing over girls in high school has got to be one of the most pathetic forms of misplaced frustration at never getting dates from athletic girls during those years. I really wish we could stop anonymous posting on or creation of threads about non-professional runners, especially female ones.
Both of these runners are incredibly accomplished at their age - can't we just agree that it's nice to have good things like that and stop going tribal over which one is the superior runner?

You're an idiot. Hedengren was never even scheduled to run the mile at Brooks PR. You can't duck someone who isn't in your race.
This negativity has to stop. By the tone of the writers, it seems highly likely that most people who anonymously post negative crap about TEENAGE GIRLS are ADULT MEN, who often pretend to "care" or "protect" the girls they're actually trashing.

To clarify, my post above was in support of this post ^^^

Did she duck the big competition in this pro race and National HS record?
