I was training for a 5k pb attempt last weekend but I was struck by illness. I felt pretty crap on Friday and Saturday so skipped the race on Sunday. I feel pretty good now but I'm still coughing up green phlegm and my throat is sore/dry in the mornings. But I have no aches or fever but I do have a ticklish dry cough. I did a 4km easy treadmill run last night and felt okay. I've been loading up in vitamins and cough bottle energy day.
I don't really want to lose too much fitness. Should I keep resting or try running my normal distances again and just skip the speed/tempo sessions until I'm recovered fully?
