There has been a great debate on my team this year: Should you workout in super shoes or save them for races?
Our best runners do not workout in super shoes and see the extra beating their legs take as added benefit to their training. In contrast, there are also freshman who spike up for every workout in an effort to be something.
My cross country season was cut short due to injury but in the workouts that I did do, I found myself preferring the non-super shoes on the grass. This is definitely a cold take when leaving out the part that when we did our road tempos/cutdowns I would wear the Nike Next%. The boost in performance was instantly noticeable. However, is this reduction in perceived effort worth it? Should I be trying to beat my legs up more?
