I am considering running Lisbon on 10/6/24 and had a few questions for people who have participated in the past. When does the race typically sell out? It is unclear on the website how far in advance to register. How is the Expo? Is it generally organized and offer decent outlets for race gear? How is the actual race? Are there a decent amount of participants and spectators on race day? Thank you in advance for your help! It is so appreciated.

Hey, Portuguese here First of all great choice! Lisbon marathon is a beautiful and scenic course. Small hills throughout, nothing crazy big though, but not pancake flat like a Berlin.
It usually does not sell out, so I would say you have time. Definitely the race is becoming more popular though each year, so reserve your spot soon if youre serious about racing it.
Expo is normal, it is organized by Portuguese standards. I don't know about race gear at Expo, but the T shirt you get with the race is ok, and made by Adidas.
The race is beautiful, and point-to-point. You start further down the coast in Cascais, and then run all along the coast before finishing in Lisbon center. There are spectators all along the way, but definitely the most in Lisbon. Good timing for support, for the final part of the race.
You have to get to Cascais early in the morning for the start time, so factor this into your plans. Thankfully, it's quite easy to arrive there from Lisbon, you have trains that leave every 20 mins from Cais do Sodré
