Should bouncy carbon fiber spring clown shoes be banned from elite competition? The Nike Zoom foam is essentially a spring, and the carbon fiber is a technological advantage.
Hobby joggers will say no because they want the time boost.
Yes. Those who wear them will talk about "duhhh cinder tracks, leather shoes, duhhh". But the fact is that they will not race with simple shoes because the super shoes give them faster times.
Whatever, you do you.
One of the things I love the most about running is that it is pure, you can do it anywhere, your body only. Sure, shoes to protect your feet, but not to propel you
To all of you super shoe wearers, good on you If you feel better wearing them, nothing against it. But that's not my sport. That's not pure running.
If you disagree, let's see you beating your super shoe PRs wearing non-super shoes.
I personally prefer walking around in super shoes before races. Right before it starts I put on my Vans so I can slap that pavement like it’s my b!tch.

discuss.
Not until I’m too old to PR. Then you can ban them.
USATF is a volunteer based organisation. If you don’t like a rule, go to the annual meeting and petition to get them the shoes banned. You’ll have to convince enough of the delegates to pass the motion. I don’t know about World Athletics, but I’ll assume that they have similar processes as USATF. Instead of complaining to the knuckleheads here, do something about it!
Jacob Kiplimo running 26:33 in pre superfoam Mambas laughing his ass off at all you clowns on this thread
JAcOB kIPLiMo, kOMeN....
Such a stupid point. That's like saying the free throw line should be moved closer because Michael Jordan can dunk from it.
The point, which went over your head is that Kiplimo had access to superspikes in 2021 yet chose to opt for something else, which is something that people on here always say never happens, yet it did. Never mentioned Komen, who didn't have a choice.
Yes. Swimming had the courage to put the genie back in the bottle after super suits wrecked the existing records around 2009. Track needs to do the same but is too financially beholden at the top to Nike.
