Really great summary of the issue and explanation of the grounds for lawsuit. Thanks for the thought provoking read.

Say you’re an angry NY’er without saying you’re an angry NY’er.

Please explain calmly in English what your problem is.
The real New York runners are actually sick and tired of NYRR's monopoly and game playing with all the new policies and having to register for races 6 months in advance and other BS and are happy to see another game in town.
I ran one NYCRuns race way back when, when they were pretty new. I was up front, in the medal positions. The course was marked so poorly at one intersection that I slowed down to let the guy behind me catch up so we could figure out which way to go together. The whole thing was kind of sloppy, but it was a good race and decent course.
I really, really hate NYRR. This is all to say, I'm rooting for NYCRuns, but I've definitely experienced some frustration with them.
NYCRuns leadership seems like a joke. The founder must be a drunk clown. At a Jersey City race, they led runners through a 3-foot wide opening under construction scaffolding. Yes, NYRR races sell out too quickly, but that's not necessarily their problem. NYCRuns problems are all their own doing.
There was a pretty scathing writeup of NYCRuns leadership circulating some of the NYC clubs a couple years ago. Written by people with close firsthand knowledge. I don't know if they've cleaned it up but sounded like some shady and scummy people involved at the time. Always seemed like a bush-league organizer, uninspiring courses, and generally a lot less competition than a NYRR race.
There's no way that half the people running in their races realize that it isn't the "main event" NYRR race - so the lawsuit seems kind of merited. Like who would travel to NYC to race in once of their races unless it was a mistake?

Ok they may be new and janky, but in the past year or two, didn't the almighty NYRR have more than one race on a short course, cancel a few races due to weather, and almost have a pro heat hit by a bus?

Oh yes, I'm not saying NYRR doesn't make mistakes. They did me dirty once and I will never forgive them.
