Hello! I will try to keep this short. I ran from Nov-July in my freshman year. I got to like 2:03, 800,4:20 1500m shape(never raced cuz of injuries)it was hard i spent like 2 months of that injured but i liked it. in july i got stres fractures and was unable to train again for 2 years. in my senior year, now, i started again after the 2 years of being sedentary. i have been dropping like 40 sec of a 4k /month. started above 16 and got down to 14. of course with injuries for at least 6 weeks.
here comes the question. how do i train? i started with 10mpw and now at 20mpw. i’m doing like 3 hard/hardish sessions/week and sometimes another run. but was never put on a plan or trained for a specific race or peaked or stuff like that, just showed up at a club.I want to keep training during summer. what do i do? keep this 3 hard/ week ? try to increase mileage ? i have 0 experience. i don’t even have an event. i have a soccer background and decent speed. i think i would be ok for 800/1500.
