I am planning to do a duo race with my brother in August, which is a 45 km race with one running and the other person cycling next to the runner. There is no restriction on when or how many times you can switch between running or cycling, other than that you need to be within 100 meters from each other.
I have heard that the most optimal strategy is to switch every 1-2km and try running at a 5km-pace.
First question: Is the strategy above the most optimal strategy for the race?
Second question: How do you prepare for this? How would the most optimal training plan be for this kind of race?
