Mathew Hudson Smith Wins men’s 400m at Jamaica invitational track meet 2024********Don’t mind these tags: #run #speedtraining #tracknation #usainbolt #olympi...
Good to see him get under 45 but he's best at 200m and most competitive relative to the talent in an event at long jump, because the event has been very weak for a long time. His natural event disposition shows in his 400s-he gets out fast, ahead of the 400 guys and then falls back in the last 150-200m.

He looked real ragged the last 70m or so. If he can address that in his training maybe he can go mid 44's soon.
Boling has the ability to go sub-44. He has very similar 100m and 200m times to Van Niekerk. Maybe he should track down that old lady in South Africa, I bet she could turn him into a 400m champion.

He’s a world record holder and gold medalist on the track. I doubt he could be either in the field.

This has been said since his freshman Indoor season at Georgia when we all watched him tense up the last 50-70m of every single race. Either he can't be coached, or hasn't ever found a good coach, to teach relaxation when running.

At a fast enough pace, everyone ties up at the end of a 400m. You’ve never heard the phrase, “A bear jumped on his back”?
I don't like Matt Boling as a 400m athlete but he is a W.C. gold medalist, B Relay.
If he focused on 200m, as I have stated for a couples years, I see f.a.t. sub-19.80. Issue: 19.79 200m might not make Olympic team.
There is no biological/physiological evidence supporting 400m athletes, extreme positive splitting said race. History of extreme positive splitting 400m, spawned from old 440 yard athletes positive splitting in order to establish position, lane 1.

He has had a few races where he did not get ragged at the end
