I'm graduating high school. I've been running for 4 years and am ending off with a 4:3X mile and 9:5X mile. While I'm sure I could walk-on somewhere, I prefer to train by myself for the sake of flexibility and being able to balance college and work.
I'm still highly committed to running and want a quality plan for improving my times over these next few years. But whenever I try to find information on self-training, it's all really overwhelming. There's a million different resources to choose from on how to do X, Y, and Z along with lots of debate. I can't wrap my head around it.
How does someone in my position approach this to effectively create a plan for myself?
