Yesterday, my track girls' distance coach went with on a track meet, but the guy's coach stayed, so we girls went and trained with the guys for intervals. For once, I felt achieved when I was finished. I'm now sore for the first time this year. The workout the guy's coach gave was great. It was fast paced, and I did 8 400ms, my times each time were at least 7 seconds faster than usual. The workout went a lot smoother than normally, and I haven't really been improving, but yesterday I felt faster. Plus the guys' coach said super encouraging things that my coach fails to say, and he was just better overall. Should I ask the guys' coach if I can train with the guys during intervals from now on? Or would that be rude? I really want to improve.
When I train with my coach, we do longer distances, and I'm the fastest on the team, so I just kinda go my own pace, but with the guys, I'm pushed extremely harder. I haven't been running faster times all season, I'm stuck because my coach is new and has no idea what he's doing. The guys. on the other hand, has coached for 30 years and has actual experiance. My coach just googles a pace chart and tells me to do that. I'm frustrated and annoyed. What should I do?
