44 yo, 5-9, 161 lbs
In college I was 135, and most my adult life was around 150. Once I hit 40 years I ballooned to over 160 and have for a while been really struggling to lose the extra fat without becoming anorexic or miserable. Been trying for a year and a half. My blood work is all good, I'm hitting lifetime PRs in weightlifting, just am carrying a bunch of extra fat. I'd like to get rid if it - be happy with low 150s with the presumable extra muscle, but it feels impossible. Should I just give up? I'm guessing I need to keep trying to lose weight, just to avoid adding more fat. Is this just what life is like once in middle age and beyond??
