The best shoe is the one that doesn’t injure you. If he is training hard, likes the feel, and not getting hurt, his shoes are doing their job well 👍
Well yeah good point . however he's only really utilized the one shoe for this purpose so it's always a fair question to ask - could there be something better? Any recommendations?
Here are some I have either worn myself, or 'flats' worn by teammates:
New Balance SC Pacer
Low profile, carbon plated, PEBA based NB flat. Like the streakfly, the SC Pacer was initially designed as a 5k/10k racer. I've seen people such as Jake Weightman and Emily Sisson using it on social media, mainly for their track workouts/quicker sessions.
Asics Evoride Speed 2
Relatively, low profile and lightweight flat for faster training; no carbon fibre plate, no PEBA based foam. Simple, old-school flytefoam and narrow design. relatively stiff in comparison to the streakfly, likely due to the EVA based flytefoam, however, I find it a good, budget-friendly option.

What about that shoe vs Addidas Takumi Sen Vs Nike Streakfly? [ again, for short fast stuff] on track
Depends on what he likes; personally I found the takumi sen 9s to be a bit too brick like, while the streakflys felt a lot more comfortable and responsive.
This was the best option for a true flat out there until it was discontinued. Right now I've been enjoying the Adidas Adizero Adios and it seems to be the last true flat that's widely available. I got a pair of the last model (the 6) on a good discount from the adidas website just after the holidays. The new version seems like a minor update and keeps a lot of the good things this has.
I also have a pair of Streakflys and always opt for my Adios when I want to run quick. Personally the Streakfly is kind of squishy for me and, while it's fine for going quick, the Adios really has that classic flat feel that I like and gives a better responsive feel.

I still have a pair of Streak LTs in good shape, bought them maybe 5 or 6 years ago. They last a while. I wore them for those weird in between paces for me—not fast enough to warrant spikes, too fast for trainers. This was before supershoes were really a thing. I did a decent amount of work in them. Put them in the closet for 5 years as I didn't really train too much. Recently got back in shape and used them again and they were great. Hoping they can outlast me at this pace.
