Gotta hand it to my dad. He’s running some incredible times for his age. Still running in the 22s for 5km and just placed 3rd at the national half marathon champs in 1:42! Turns 75 in June. I think part of his success at this age is he didn’t get serious about his running until he was in his early 50s and now does no more than 4 training runs per week. His 1:42 is the fastest he’s run in 5 years. He has started incorporating weight training into his training over the last 6 months at my suggestion which he feels has made a big difference. He previously was barely able to do a single pull up and can now do several along with squatting some decent weight along with lunges and pushups. It’s never too late!
