Any advantages to wearing toe socks for sports or day-to-day wear as opposed to a sock where all of your toes are all in one?
Cheers.

They were made commercial and known to wear in the Vibram 5 toe running shoes (copied from old Japanese shoes). The Japanese are wearing cotton toe socks and shoes already for ages. Healthier for the toes, less pressed together, less sweaty, generally better when yr toes stay apart from each other, moving freely and separately, based on the knowledge that the surface yr standing on has to be as spread out and wide as possible. Every mm is important for nerves, veins and muscles, to balance and support your body correctly, when standing and moving.
I had a recurring corn between my toes that was really irritating. I got it carved off, and now I wear toe socks on longer runs and it hasn't come back. They feel kind of bunchy and wouldn't wear them if I hadn't had that issue, but they seem to have helped in this case.
Yep, I wondered if toes moving separately from another was a big factor.

After wearing socks and narrowing running shoes yr whole life, yr toes will never ever separately move unless you start to walk with toe separators, which must be only for true SM lovers.
Unless you have a well scaled foot, you will be highly disappointed.
Mortons toe, long 4th toe, short pinky toe, etc
Caveat Emptor
they're way more comfortable if the toebox is large enough (the extra tissue between toes makes them take more place in shoes)
but the caveat is that since the toes move more in the shoes, you'll get sore / black toenails (the toenails rub against the upper)
