I have a bunch of shoes in my rotation. Some for certain kinds of workouts, some for easy runs, some for long runs.
A few of them are old date-wise, but have little running mileage on them (1+ years old, but only 65 miles). Should I be concerned I won't be able to get the most out of them before they "go bad", if they do at all?
My first instinct was to just keep using them until they started to feel weird, but I wanted to get some opinions. Thanks!
Lightly used shoes actually tend to last a little longer than never-used, but both should be fine on the order of a few years.
It’s a shoe, not fresh fish.

0-1 Month running out of the box: Max actual or placebo effect on race efforts.
1 Month - 1 Year: Adequate running support for training and racing, no significant effect +/-, better than barefoot on glass.
1 Year+: Good until sore feet effect is the norm not the exception. Begin career as "not running today but need running looking shoes for this thing I'm doing", and/or grass stained lawnmowers.

should last 5+ years in your closet. don't leave them exposed to extreme temperatures.
Any shoe you buy on sale from last year is already 2 years old most likely, especially if you bought it from a retail store. It doesn't matter. I have shoes that are maybe 8 years old and they're totally fine still. not even discolored or anything.
