She will be on the podium in Paris. Mark my words.
I will give you 20 to 1 that she doesn’t. Minimum stake $1,000
I can't afford $1000 but would happily put $100 on it. The girl has IT and a medal in Paris will be the beginning of a storied career on the biggest stage.

Twill take 1.55 to medal she ain’t getting that in less than 4 months
Yep unlikely....but a year ago her PB was 2.04. She's only just out of high school and running full-time. A lot of upside to come.
Absolutely the sky is the limit however she won’t medal in Paris. I hope she doubles at world juniors afterwards as the 4.02 she ran was very impressive

She can go sub 4 this year in the right race but will she get the opportunity?

Actually....that wasn't right. She ran 2.01 in 2021 and took another couple of years before she bettered it. I think she can go 1.57 low this year.
How much of a season has she run down under? She’s just run 1:58.4, a significant improvement on earlier times, but you think she can take another second off. What do you base that on?
She is pretty much hitting the prime age for 800m runners. It is a pure guessing game if she has another 2s or if she is maxed out. Look at Keely or my going from 2.01 to 1:55 in a year.

She's only been in 'full' training since December/Jan. Post-school wrapping up etc. Aussies tend to gain time when we leave our summer and go to Europe where competition is much tighter. And I'm also an optimist- she's young, excited, humble- easy to cheer for.
Another teenage female phenomenon...whose body could easily change, stopping all progress. Like Mary Cain and many others. Georgie Clarke of Australia ran 4:06 at age 16, and really never improved.
She's a strong looking just turned 19 year old. Has been built like an adult for the last 4 years. Must be doing an awful lot of work. Hard to say how much room for improvement. Also a bit injury prone.

Up until 2022 she was also playing AFL, and dabbled in swimming and triathlon. She hasn't had huge full seasons with a lot of races, and hasn't raced much overseas (limited West Coast run last year). It sounds like Mottram has been very cautious/gradual with her
Australia has a lot of super fast juniors coming through, and unlike in the past, they seem to be hanging onto them, and not over training them.I imagine we'll be seeing a lot more of the aussies in years to come, with the brisbane olympics in 2032.
