In most sports, I think these sort of "barguments" are fun. Who ran faster is objective, but who ran/performed/hit/scored/passed/was better is usually fun.
All too often in running generally, though, and on these message boards specifically--these sort of arguments seem to be started to devalue the performances of young and popular female runners and rooted in misogyny. Please stop, and let us have fun things.

The only one where there's a clear answer is female chess players - Judit Polgar is by far the best female chess player of all time. She's the only female to have been ranked in the world top 10 and to have qualified for the Candidates' tournament. The track comparison would be imagining Kipyegon being fast enough (and doing well enough in the rounds) to compete in a global men's 1500m final.

That would not be the track comparison. Male chess players do not have a massive biological advantage over female chess players.
