The 10,000m is dead, long live the 10,000m (XC).
After listening to the podcast this week with RoJo trying to resurrect world xc, the answer to me is obvious.
The only way you're going to get World XC to matter is by putting it in one of the few meets that matter.
Added bonus is it limits the Africans to 3 athletes per, which is why the non-Africans don't really bother atm - they have no chance because there are too many good Africans.
Just make World XC the world 10,000m - get great fan engagement and replace the most boring event in all of sports.
