What wireless tech does it use and how has it worked? Do you recommend it? Worried about wrist based accuracy.
No, nobody here pairs a chest strap to their watch. Whenever we see an HRM, we have a spasmodic reaction to throw away the HRM and just run by feel. Baby.
I used (still do) a Polar HRM for years that, as per the previous poster, uses the Gymlink 5 kHz protocol. This was compatible with the (Precor) gym treadmill I used at the time.
For a while I had a Nike watch that was ANT 2.4 GHz technology. It worked fine as a HRM, but the Nike watch functionality was crap for serious run training.
In my experience the chest strap heart rate monitors are worlds more reliable than optical wrist monitors. The transmission protocol shouldn't matter as long as the strap is compatible with the watch.
A Garmin with their TRI strap monitor. The strap records data during pool workouts, which can be downloaded to the watch after the fact (since wireless transmission doesn’t work under water.)

Well that was really stupid. What brand of chew do you take when you run?
