I have a pair of Saucony Excursion TR15 trail running shoes, and they have an extremely durable outsole and upper, making it difficult to gauge their lifespan that way. As far as I know, they will last forever.
I have had them for a long time(~7-8months) and put an unknown number of miles on them(I bought them way before I learned to track my shoe mileage).
In order to know when they are done(to prevent injury and performance decrease), the only thing left is the midsole.
The midsole is on the firmer side, and I have never been particularly good at “feeling out” a midsole’s durability.
What are some ways to test whether a midsole is still okay to run in?
Thanks!
