I currently use the Altra Escalante Racer for just about everything, but I'm looking to get another pair of shoes that is a bit more responsive for tempo runs, intervals, and short race (5K to HM).
I'm looking at the Saucony Sinister, Nike Streakfly, Puma Liberate Nitro 2, and the Adidas Takumi Sen 10. I would like to find a pair that is (1) not too soft (ankle issues), (2) has a flexible heel counter (I have Haglund's deformity), and (3) is not too narrow in the forefoot.
Vaporflys fit my feet very well, so I am tempted to try the Streakfly, but reviews are saying that they are rather soft-feeling. The Takumi Sen looks like a great option, but I can't find anywhere to buy it. That leaves the Sinister and the Liberate, which very few people seem to use.
Can anyone vouch for any of these shoes? I don't have the ability to try them on in-store, so I am eager to hear what you think.
