Let Vandegrift boys from second to last at state to the podium in a year.

It seems so I don’t think any other coach has done so
And the year they took second to last was the first time they ever made the state meet.
And? That makes him the best ever? Better than Joe Newton? Walt Lange? Bill Aris? Pat Tyson? Scott Christenson? The Kraniks? You must go to that school to think this.
Thank you for not including Brosnan in your list.
Or Soles, Leonard, Mccafferty, Heath, and Ruiz (Belen Jesuit coach)
not better than Joe Newton; where are his 30 state trophies?

also Christensen (Niwot) and Mostert

Austin Vandegrift didn’t open until 2009
Potentially the best coach in Texas. There's a reason Vandegrift boys team continued to improve even after the graduation of Kevin Sanchez.
Hot take: Vandegrift boys win 6A State next year in cross country.

Sully doesn't even coach his own team. It's mostly outsourced to a couple of private coaches in the area.

Certainly possible. They were close two years in a row.
I think they will make NXN too.

Sounds smart to me. Doesn’t have an ego or control issues.
Colin Sully … name sounds similar to Colin Sahlman
Isn’t there some coach in Texas that’s won 6A like 4 years in a row?

Southlake Carroll coach Leonard…team won 5 years in a row actually.
They also made NXN 12 years in a row, not including 2020 & 2021 when there was no NXN
Came on here just to make sure we add Brosnan’s name to the list. C’mon, you can’t disqualify him cause you don’t like him - as a coach he’s a powerhouse.
In a few years I predict he'll be recognized as one of the greatest to ever do it. Already arguably the best in Texas
I think taking a team from 9th at state to the #1 team in the entire nation in 2 years seem like better merits for the greatest coach of all time.
