I have a very unusual situation. I have been running for a few years, and I prefer distance over speed. I pronate when I run, but my toes don't turn out when landing like a normal pronation. I was told Brooks would be best for me, but when I wear Brooks or Hoka, or something similar, my heel will go mostly numb or tingly over time, and the bottoms of my feet will begin to hurt. It usually takes about 6 miles in Ghost 15, but I tried Ghost Max, and it was within the first mile. If I wear Altra shoes, they are very comfortable for me, and I can run for 20 miles with no foot issues at all, but my shoe wear pattern clearly shows the pronation since they are zero drop, and recently my right ankle has begun bothering me on occasion. I have tried insoles and orthodics, but get the same result as wearing Brooks. I have zero issues with knees, hips, back, or anything else, only my right ankle. The doc I saw is baffled with everything checking out, and the professional shoe store has never seen my situation before. I'm hoping there's someone who has maybe a similar thing they've resolved, or a direction.
