PV has run 14:52 and PW has run 13:13. The answer is probably not at all clear when you factor in PV’s durability issues. They both can be professionals.
Parker Wolfe (UNC Chapel Hill) became the first Tar Heel student-athlete to win 5 (ACC) Atlantic Coast Conference Championship titles in the same school year. Wolfe set a ACC 5k outdoor track and field meet record.

Until Valby can prove her durability, it is not a fair comparison how much further they can go.
I think Parker Valby may not turn pro ever, largely because her exposure to the "public" has not been a great experience. Check out her last two TikTok posts. She can finish with an unparalleled collegiate record, and leave it at that.

I doubt it? I assume she has Olympic dreams, and an extreme motivation to excel in running as evidenced by her training regimen and success. And fortunately for her, it’s not like signing a pro contract means she’ll be required to face the public very much—I mean, we’re always complaining about pro runners going MIA for months at a time.
Stokes, 8:18 steeple takes you a lot further than 14:52 or 13:13.
I appreciate the “hot take” effort, but Stokes is 23 vs. Wolfe, 20, and in his most recent steeple he was the 3rd (and oldest) collegian and 8 seconds behind a U.S. steepler who’s not necessarily a favorite to make the Olympic team. 7th place in the Big East 1500 last week? I’ll take Wolfe, please.

....
She has proven HER DURABILITY over the last 7 months with a
NCAA X Country Title
NCAA Indoor Title
Multiple collegiate records indoors and outdoors
First collegiate to run sub 15 and sub 31 minute 5000 and 10000m
and she will IMPROVE both her 5 and 10 personal best later this year

ALREADY PROVEN DURABILITY Nuff said🔊
Late this year is seven months from now. It appears she found a good balance between cross training and running, her times have showed improvement while she has been staying healthy. With that said, the law of diminishing return will kick in at a certain time. When she decides to change stimulus such as increase weekly mileage from 25 to 35, will she need to reduce cross training to maintain the overall load, or need to increase cross training so she can maintain fitness to absorb more stress from running? Is her body strong enough to handle the new balance if it can be found? Sooner or later we will find out.
This may be obvious (or not) to Parker Valby (and her team), but if I were in her track shoes, and my track shoes were bothering me, then I would acquire every pair of track shoes on the market (regardless of brand), and find the pair that works the best with her ‘wide feet and high arches’. If it were to turn out that an alternative brand ‘works better’ (more comfortable, etc.), then I would petition my sponsor why those shoes seem to work better, to come up with the best solution for her feet.
One would think her sponsor already has this covered, but who knows?

On a side note, Vanessa Fraser just got brand new proto pair of track shoes (from Saucony) sent overnight, and is planning to wear them in tonight’s race.

Not me. I couldn't care less where Katelyn Tuohy is now. I mean, I hope that she is OK, but if she disappeared from the running scene it is no skin off of my teeth.
