Sucked at Cal. Keeleys coach finds her and she’s 4th at world. Rojo calls it a great story. I call it sus. If she were African what would Rojo be saying…
Emily Mackey went from 4:17.37 in 2021 to 4:08.97 in 2022 to 3:59.99 in 2023 to World Indoor bronze medal to start 2024. That's more suspicious than Bell. Don't get me started on Purrier St. Pierre who comes back from a year off due to pregnancy and then promptly drops the three greatest performances of her career. Her WA points were routinely in the 1220s; her last three races were 1249, 1250, and 1265.
Everyone sucks at Cal. Anyone who has ever lost their love for running then found it again knows how it works.
She ran a pb of 4:12 last year. Well after leaving cal. Now she’s low 4s? Ok
Dude, she basically took 2 years off of anything other than fun running (2021, 2022), mostly just cycling for fitness. She returned to serious training in early 2023. You’re being unfair- either from lack of knowledge or a personal problem you have with her.

she is the queen elbower... haven't seen someone that train wreck in a 1500 since that American chick.
she does huge volume on the bike as a triathelte. If you could do 3x the workouts a week with next to 0 additional impact on the legs, do you not think you'd improve?
Who else does lots of cycling? The OAC group, heck even Kipchoge uploads photos on an indoor bike. A triathlete with a background in athletics running a decent time at a mid-distance event isn't crazy. It's not like she's running 28:50 or something
Gotta keep in mind that Cal's track coaching has been atrocious for years. Sad that one of America's best universities has had such a crap program, but that's just facts.
So the fact that she under-performed while at Cal isn't much of a data point. EVERYONE who runs 800-up at Cal under-performs by and large.
Interested to see how she does outdoors as good it’ll be a great battle for the Olympic team. Muir 3:54 Oly/World medalist, Snowden huge breakthrough last year running 3:56 and making world final, Melissa Courtney Bryant 3:58 last year. Bell is probably in sub 4 shape but going to be very interesting for that final spot.

I’d agree with you if the athlete were sitting on a couch.
Bell on the other hand had been essentially cross-training (cycling) since her Cal days, at a high level. And training with Hodgkinson is likely an incredible benefit.

Who coached her at Cal? The current coach is a laughing stock in California. No one will reach their potential with those clowns 🤡
You’re being nice. Bobby Lockhart is god awful as a coach. Honestly he has to be up there with one of the worst P5 coaches and his results show this. Although I don’t think he coached Georgia Bell.

Tony Sandoval ran the program when she was there. Shayla was the distance coach.

Either she hasn’t replied to your DM or you’re just a very poor athletics fan ranting here without doing a quick Google first.
Going back pre Cal days, she ran 2:03 for the 800 and won medals as at junior nationals in the UK. More recently after getting back into the sport she ran 4:06 for the 1500m in 2023 and qualified for the World Champs in the Duathlon for GB. You only have to scroll her IG (I’m sure you’ve done this a few times today alone) to see she was at altitude with Keely and Sarah Healy in South Africa pre indoor season so running 4:03 a few times and coming 4th at worlds which was pretty darn weak isn’t exactly veering WADA away from chasing Katir down is it.

You mean that Irish chick, The Iron Stork, running for UW.
