I decided to give this double T thing ago. I started running double threshold starting in the September of 2023, and I believe I was doing everything right (optimal mileage, couple lactate readings throughout each threshold sessions, adequate sleep and the list goes on). At the end of cross season I got my first injury (stress reaction in my femur) but it was because I was slacking off with the gym. Due to this I was out for 3 weeks up until December 17th. From there I started building back my mileage. During my build back to normal mileage I was dealing with a lot of sickness and this went until the week beginning of Jan 22. During that time period I wasn't having the most consistent training but was still reasonable (Dec 11 - 31st average of 16mpw) +(Jan 1st - Jan 21nd 65mpw ). Since the 22nd I had a block of 5 weeks of training (83 mile weeks) with 2 double t days (4 total threshold sessions) a track session and a day of sprints the rest is easy mileage. I had a race of the 29th of February (indoor 5000) and I ended up running 16:05. This way slower then my Pb of 15:28 that I ran 2 and half years ago as a grade 10. This leaves me very frustrated I am working very hard and I feel like I'm not seeing the results. Should I go back to my old training method? or should not worry because I only had 5 consistent weeks of training and keep doing what I'm doing.
