We break down all of the track action to watch in Glasgow, including a heavyweight 60m matchup and whether Cole Hocker can join Matthew Centrowitz and Bernard Lagat as American world indoor champions.
I like Welteji as potentially the greatest challenger to Kipyegon. But it's increasingly difficult to overlook Hailu's head to head advantage over Welteji. Once it plays out that way there are reasons for it and it continues to show up
Women's 400 will never be a world record. I appreciate that Bol has already addressed that. She said it's significantly higher level of competition than at Dutch nationals and therefore greater likelihood of getting in each other's way.
Bol will have a major decision to make. She'll either have to go out faster than she's comfortable with to make sure she has the lead at 200, or face the prospect of trailing at 200 for the first time since the Belgrade final in 2022.
The semifinals will be pivotal toward lane draw. Bol can only relax in the final if neither Holmes nor Diggs are in lane 4 or above.
I think the men's 3000m is the best race on the schedule. It is long, so there is plenty of time for things to go wrong (or right). I can't wait.
The men's 1500m is great too but a lot of the time that has to do with position and people somehow mess that up or get boxed in. Of course, I am amped to see what Hocker and Kessler can do!
Has to be said, poor preview by otherwise not so bad :D Gault for the W800, even if it had the title "America’s Hopes" xD
Jemma Reekie was very impressive :D at the UK Indoors, after her last year's PBs and can be said some sort of return. Don't know if Alemu races, didn't check the startlists, but Reekie looks set for a medal, don't know wheter gold but should be at least silver. She was not so good after rounds for me before, and outdoors the Big3 looks out of reach but maybe Reekie can join them.
I hope Goule-Toppin will finally take a WC medal. Looks like American women without a chance in this event though I can be wrong with Addy W.
Interesting on what level Muir will be this year, she will have ultra-hard job^^ at the Oly. Potentially props to Jess Hull.
wSP - can the US women show up big when it counts wHJ - can consistent Yaroslava make Ukraine proud yet again mHJ - Woo is so fun to watch. wPV - another Morris V Moon showndown + Eliza is back in top form mPV - Mondo is just so dominant m60 - Lyles V Coleman. enough said m60H - WR alert, and will Grant continue his streak? Will Trey maintain his world #2 status? w400 - Bolmania w1500 - great field m1500 - Hobbs vs a very good field, perhaps his time to shine with another medal after winning a baby medal on the roads last year w3000 - great great field m3000 - going to be a great race
But I'm most excited for the m SP. The only thing Crouser hasn't racked up is a world indoor title. He is so good in so many ways.
