good run by the twins
good run by the twins
Prs for both.
From Leo's appendicitis in October to Lex's broken arm last month -- no need to guess -- very good runs by both.
telling ya, that stanford training is not meant for freshman. Only upperclassmen will benefit from that type of training. That is the reason why they have had poor results relative to highschool.
seriously, those are not good results for them. These guys should be running at minimum below 7:50. by the way, anyone know what happened to rocky hansen?

Don't wind up as a "Sprout"
Blud 💀
Throwback to NXN 2018 when Sprout beat the BIG Young and Liam Anderson WON
L&L now 1-2 on Stanford's frosh all-time indoor/outdoor 3k list.
Faster at the 3k than Grant Fisher, Ky Robinson, Cole Sprout, Sean McGorty, Chris Derrick, Jonathan Riley, Michael Stember, Gabe Jennings, the Hauser twins, et al, were in their first year on The Farm.
That's it for their indoor season.
Likely to open their outdoor season March 29-30 at the Stanford Invitational.
With Ky & Cole to pull them along, L&L might have a sniff at Nico's 13:24.26 U20 US record.
The influencers are being eclipsed by superior international talents 🥺
The Santos effect will make the average DI runners. Maybe above average because they are good talent. Sad to see them not on the right trajectory. Lex ran 7:57 his junior year of HS. Santos did this same thing with his BAA talent. He can’t develop a runner if his life depended on it
At the end of the day Leo and Lex picked Stanford over running fast. To some it’s not a bad choice.
Pre-Nuttycombe-2023 thinking.
After the xc team's terrible performance in Wisconsin last October, Ricardo & team talked things out. Much changed, including some training tweaks.
All these recent personal bests from Milo, Leo & Lex, together with Ky's historic run as well as Cole finally staying healthy through an indoor season, bear testament to this inflection point four months ago.
The brothers are first and foremost students at Stanford and runners second. Add on top of that that they prefer to have fun doing other things outside of being student athletes, it's no surprise that their race times have plateaued. They are training at a higher level, but recovery both mentally and physically is more challenging. I'd definitely expect them to run 5000m PBs this spring and make steady progress throughout their time at Stanford. My only question is whether they try to graduate early before transferring to another top level academic institution.
Shocking that they’re 1-2 given the footwear they have access to….
keep crying about "supershoes", people are bound to get faster over time through new technology as well as a growing population of people as well as runners, in a few years L&L will be replaced from their 1 and 2 spot, people get faster over time due to an increased number of competitors as well as improvements in tech & training.

so it is the shoes, you agree on that. cool.
Lol "growing population of people". yeah maybe we can say that higher GDP or higher global literacy is a factor here too.
more people = more talent = more high level competitors
the shoes do effect performance but likely just around 1 second per mile compared to spikes 20 years ago

Bullsh*t. Just like any other elite athletes, they want to maximize their potential. Harvard ranks with Stanford academically, and Blanks gives running a high priority.
