Tergat, Coe, Amos Kipruto and Kipyegon all attended, but Kipchoge gave it a miss, why?

This made me laugh. Oh, let's run.
did Bekele attend? Did Kipsang? Did Lawrence Cherono? Did Mutai? Korir? Kosgei? Kamworor?
Kipchoge laboured to congratulate him after the record, do you really think he'd be at the funeral? Do you know if they even knew each other? Did all other marathoners attend? Stop making this into something it isn't.
Kipchoge would have attended if Nike had filmed a commercial in the parking lot afterwards.
Otherwise I've never cared about him partially because it always stood out that he is self absorbed with very little class. Call it instincts but I've learned to trust them and in situations like this they pan out.
Kipchoge is racing in 10 days, that is most likely the reason he was not there. Many (probably most) of the local athletes who are not competing in races the next 2 weekends (Tokyo, Kenyan XC Trials, RAK Half, World Indoors) were there. Faith Kipyegon was there as was Kamworor, so it's not a beef between the management groups or whatever. It seems like of the athletes notably not there are about to race, which is not surprising.
The most obvious answer is that he didn’t want to be seen crying and possibly even fainting because of his intense grief. And as the Leader of Thoughts said, he has a race coming up.
As an athlete Kelvin would expect his competitors to honor their commitments to race, as would he. His friend, John Korir, could not attend because he's at RAK.
Plus, the date of todays burial was fluid. It was actually changed after Seb Coe was coming due to Pres Ruto having to fly to Europe tomorrow.
All this is nonsense. Only this matters
Her presence reminded everyone that the modest, softly spoken star had also left his wife, two children and parents bereft.
"I mourn my love," she said, "I've cried until no more. I'll miss you and you're the love of my life forever. Until we meet again."
"He would have been a great support to the community and family. He was our light. He's motivated many.
"We used to say to our children: 'Be like Kiptum."

Classic LRC mods deleting the funniest answer that was obviously a joke because killing people is no laughing matter 🙄
Doesn’t matter if that post was deleted or not. We all know what it said, and most people thought it. For professional reasons it needs to be deleted, but that doesn’t erase it from my mind…
Can you share what it was for those of us who missed it?
LRC is weirdly protective of Kipchoge. They'll instantly delete threads about him that would probably live on forever if they were directed at 99% of other pros.
Perhaps Kipchoge sent a thoughtful letter or one of his family members were there to represent him. The impression I have of him, is a man of high moral and ethical standards. However what I know of this situation, it doesn’t sit very well with me.
To be fair, probably the majority of what you see of Kipchoge’s life has been reviewed by a marketing professional at Nike before it is posted.
Yes, please….!
Do they even know each other well?

Did Steve Ovett attend?
I hoped Waldemar Cierpinski attended.

Class is when you show up to a stranger's funeral. Idiot.
