Jerry needs some momentum and he may get it via the portal. This is a surprise to me as Hart just ran great at NCAA xc for UT. Anyone know what he means by this post?
At least he admits, it's irrational.

How long before he transfers from Oregon to NAU?
Hope jerry doesn't injure him like ALL others. Jerry is a doc best friend.
I really hope he doesn't consider never racing to be hedging, or he's going to be really disappointed. How much more eligibility does this guy even have?
Go fly high goat
I used to follow him on tik tok, got me all fired up to run fast as a soph in hs
He's a big time runner. Super underrated. Not sure how much eligibility he has left but I hope he adapts to Jerry's training and has success at Oregon. GO DUCKS!!!
he seems like he runs only for himself and his own personal glory. he would never fit in at NAU.
This NJ kid has gone some places and done some things.
Clown show. 3rd school in 3 years.
He already had his degree from Stanford. It’s really his third school in six or seven years.
How does this guy still have eligibility? 4 years at stanford, 1 year at Texas, and now a year at Oregon?
Best of luck to this kid, but I do think it is funny (sad) what college sports have become. 25 year old guys, years past their degree, participating in sports with 18-year-olds. I do NOT blame the athletes, but the NCAA. Watching D1 basketball is hilarious. Everyone is a 5th or 6th year senior that has been to 3 different schools. Freshman players on the bench rarely take off sweats and look like team managers. Again, I don't blame the athletes. I have much more respect for a coach who can bring in kids and coach them to success over 4 years together. That appears to be a thing of the past.
Haven't we all been repeatedly told that takes a minimum of two years?
Why is he hedging produce?
Hope he has a fun time not racing
Despite recruiting half off the top prep runners, Oregon hasn't had a mens ncaa star since Hocker and Teare
Maybe they can teach him how to form a coherent sentence at Oregon.
Thoughts?
NCAA athletes are not supposed to be recruited prior to being in the portal or induced to enter the transfer portal.
That means this guy entered the portal with no idea in the world where he might end up the following season (obviously with his pedigree he would have many options).
So, he entered the portal with some uncertainty? Do we believe he didn't have contact with Oregon first, or was he so unhappy at Texas that he was willing to roll the dice, or what?
Great post. I've been saying this a while. Guys run a mark and then say I'm a Junior in college. Turns out he's 23+ years old. Not a crime but the age matters; not what grade you're in. If a guy is 23/24, he's nearing his peak. Should be running real fast. I believe there was a guy running for Alabama recently who was a 25yr old Junior?!
I'm glad the Covid thing is over. No more free year. Just run for 4 or 5 years in the NCAA and move on.
The Athletic on college football: “Most of the really good players aren’t going into the portal without knowing where they’re going. They already have a home.”
XC / track is obviously a smaller sport, but I have to doubt that he'd not have at least preliminary contact: just ask a friend or an acquaintance if Jerry wants another fast athlete. I know someone (xc track) who transferred to a school with (significantly) more academic standards and he had it lined up before entering, but waited a week since entering to announce his decision.
