This meet is the one most US pros are targeting to get their Olympic standard in the 10,000. The standards are 27:00 for the men and 30:40 for the women, and right now Alicia Monson is the only American athlete of either sex who has run the time during the qualification window. She is also running The TEN and will be trying to become the first US woman sub-30:00.
All three 2021 US men's Olympians -- Grant Fisher, Woody Kincaid, Joe Klecker -- are running, as are Moh Ahmed, Nico Young, Jack Rayner, Charles Hicks, and many more.
On the women's side, Monson, Elly Henes, Emily Infeld, Tsigie Gebreselama (30:04 pb, 2023 World XC silver), and Weini Kelati are running. Keira D'Amato and Sara Hall are also entered, trying to bounce back after the Olympic Marathon Trials.
