We are witnessing great performance coming from non East Africans especially at the mile distance look at Kerr beating Farah record with Ease and with no shady track record within the next 5 years the landscape will change hugely
Exactly, there was never any conclusive evidence on why they dominate, look at Kerr his a big powerful athlete don’t need to be a weak stick figure to run, it’s starting off with the 1500, but we will see more great performances coming in the 5000 and 10000 soon! Excited for the future of running
Doubt much will change in the next 5 years or ever. Look at the marathon, cross country, senior, U20, month after month, year after year. It's like saying its the end of an era for tall people dominating basketball because a couple amazing short dudes had their time.
I'm not surprised to find this on this forum, after one race, because of one person. Reminds me of the Christophe Lemaitre years on these forums full of threads about him, now what ?
Well, some would say this discussion is insensitive after Kiptum's tragic passing. But the OP is largely right. You can't ignore the fact that we're seeing things that would have been thought crazy only 10 years ago, such as a white Norwegian kid winning Olympic 1500m gold at 20 and making the best East Africans look silly over 5000m, or two white Scots winning consecutive world 1500m titles and now one of them destroying Mo Farah's indoor two mile WR. Then the amazing talents coming through like Laros and Myers, or George Mills not even able to get into the GB 1500 team moving up and running sub 13 indoors.
The 'natural born runner' zealots will cling to their belief like a religion though. To reduce what we are seeing to 'a couple of amazing guys' is silly. Less valid than reducing the pre EPO performances of Kenya to 'a couple of amazing guys' (Keino and Rono).
East africans are only becoming more dominant on the womens side. Look at the women's 2 mile at Millrose where U20's Eisa and Wudu crushed Muir, Monson (while Monson ran an AR).
The more serious the AIU testing in Africa becomes, the more the Africans have to limit themselves to microdosing like the Europeans and Americans, the more non-African will get medals and even world records in mid-distance and distance events. We can already see the trends quite clearly...
East African men have never dominated in the 1500/mile. The last East African to win an Olympic Gold in the 1500 was in 2008. The only East African to hold the WR in the 1500 or mile was Filbert Bayi in the mid-1970s, and he was Tanzanian.

From Wiki Kevin Kiptum raised in a region of 2600m altitude.
Find an example like that in Europe. The highest mountain in England is Scafell Pike = 978m. The highest mountain in Norway is 2400m.
What are doing Jakob and Kerr now are breaking the laws of nature following a very restrictive nutrition and training regime.
No you were not born for distance running.
Look at the example of Egypt in North Africa, despite having 110+ millions population they are unable to find talents in middle and long distances.
It's to be welcomed if you now accept Katir wasn't a real talent, but isn't his mother Egyptian?

The super shoes are reducing the African achilles length advantage
Can you guys make a decision on this matter? Please choose a narrative:
East Africans are genetically superior so we shouldn't bother any longer - time for whites to quit and find another sport/hobby.
East Africans doping like crazy and never get tested.
Poor East Africans just want it more / running is respected in Africa / Africans don't waste time on screens / Africans don't eat at McDonald's.
The most talented white people play other sports or quit after college to work jobs.
Everyone cheats but Africans get away with more cheating.
There are so many competing theories floating around and I wish that we could just fixate on one. I'm worried that I am wasting my time fighting DNA deficiencies/being born in Ohio to white parents or that I need to pick up a side hustle to afford the dope.
African performances explode as soon as EPO comes on the market, they dominate for 30 years, then markedly decline as soon as they are properly tested for said drug.
