I have a number of different shoes and thought it would be good to try to find out which ones is the fastest for me (half marathon & marathon). I've seen that in other test they have been measuring V02 during the test and then seen which shoe consumed least oxygen to run at a specific speed. I dont have that device but have a lactate meter.
Thought of doing my test on a treadmill to get same speed for all shoes and also repeat test at another time. Let´s say I going to test 3 shoes (A, B and C), how about following approach to get it as fair as possible.
6x5 minutes at marathon pace with 5 minutes rest to get lactate lower between each interval. Shoe order: A-B-C-C-B-A and then change the order for a second test (B-C-A-A-C-B). Measuring lactate after each interval.
Hope to find that one model is continuously showing lower lactate then the others --> have my racing shoe :)
Any opinions about the approach or how to compare the shoes even more fair?
