Perhaps the biggest flop of all time. She was steaming from her 7 turnover, 4 rebound performance. Ultimate definition of a ball hog.
I love when Caitlin Clark haters try to insult her by using the term "ball hog" when she is second in the country in assists. hard to be a ball hog when you distribute the ball more than almost anyone else. shes the best offensive force in the country. you want the rock in her hand as much as possible. any other strategy would be incredibly stupid.
As for the collision, I think its much ado about nothing. It wasnt on purpose. Everyone has apologized. Clark says shes ok. Move on. Focus on a big win for Ohio State. Good for them.

Yes, even with her 7 turnovers today, she put up a ratio of 6.43 points per turnover, compared with the rest of her team’s 5.88 points per turnover. As for shooting, she scored 1.8 points per field goal attempt, compared with the rest of her team’s 1.18 points per FGA (a huge difference!) Even in a somewhat sloppy game, giving her a very high usage rate was clearly Iowa’s best strategy.
Iowa would not be much of a team without Clark, who’s made them one of the best in the country for 3 seasons now.
A major reason why Iowa lost today was their inability to stop Cotie McMahon, who happened to have the game of her life. It happens.

So she is not taking 40 shots a game like some coach has suggested? What a shock!
she shoots 48%. She’s below 30% on 3pt. If she passed more let better shooters shoot would beat teams like Ohio State.
what are you talking about? she shoots 40% from three. the team collectively shoots 37%. shes the best three point shooter on the team unless you count players that have taken a couple threes all season or come off the bench at garbage time. dont just make sht up. and, again, the notion that someone could be a ball hog when they are NUMBER TWO in assists in the country is laughable and absurd. did you type that with a straight face?
And her degree of difficulty is much higher. She’s not sitting in the corner waiting to take a wide open 3 that becomes available from a teammate getting double teamed. She’s the one getting double teamed and facing defenses that are focused on trying to stop her. She’s often creating her own shot and making 3 pointers from way behind the line.
they say she actually shoots better the further behind the line she gets. probably because shes less likely to be defended out there and shes capable of making shots at 30+feet easily. but her bread and butter is that step back to the left three.
I dont watch her enough to know if shes a ball hog but thinking assist numbers disprove that is pretty silly. See: houston era james harden
Maybe you should watch her then before making declarations. Did Harden ever lead the league in assists in his shooting guard days with Houston while at the same time shooting 40% from three? Is Clark being told not to shoot and hurting the team? Is she surrounded by elite NBA talent who can create their own shot as well? The term "ball hog" implies someone who makes harmful decisions about shooting or doesnt trust their teammates enough to give them the ball. Clark makes some of the most daring passes you will ever see in college basketball. takes huge chances trying to get the ball to teammates. in fact a good number of them end up as turnovers because they are such tough passes to handle. you could make the argument she would be better off trying to score herself rather than take some of the passes she takes. would a true ball hog take chances like that or just take those shots herself?
People here confuse being a big play maker with being a ball hog. Clark lives to make the big play whether thats a 30 foot three or a 3/4 court laser pass to a teammate for a layup or going for a homerun steal. she plays the game on the edge at all times. and because shes good at playing she wins a lot. if thats being a ball hog than sign me up.
That should be a wakeup call to the habit players have taken up of running off the floor. Had she been walking, that would not have happened. I understand that they want to get out of a potentially dangerous situation of the crowd rushing the court, which had happened, but the OSU fan wasn't running. Terrific game, though, for Clark. 45 pts. She is lighting it up this year and she is a true game-changer for fan interest in women's basketball.
