Jakob Ingebrigtsen will not participate in this year's indoor WC in Glasgow on the first weekend in March. He also postpones the altitude training in Spain in the first weeks of January.
- I've struggled a bit with an Achilles and don't want to take any risks, for me it's all about the EC and Olympics this season, says Jakob Ingebrigtsen in a press release.
Filip and Henrik go to Spain together with several runner colleagues in the extended circle of Team Ingebrigtsen, Jakob chooses to train on his own in Norway. At the same time, he announces that he is over this year's indoor WC in Glasgow.
- I know my body, and it sometimes happens that it needs a little extra time to heal before I start with hard loads. I've been struggling a bit with an achilles, and have therefore been training a bit alternatively. Now I'm on my way back, but I don't want to take any risks. Therefore, I run my own scheme a little more. I know that works. For me, it's EC and Olympic medals that matter, says Jakob Ingebrigtsen.
- I love competing, but sometimes you have to make some tactical and boring priorities.
