Makes sense. Look at the amount of followers someone has and the amount of engagement. This is the first sign of buying followers. These three have a lot of fake followers after just checking. Good magnum P.I work
You can also buy followers for people you dont like to make them look bad. Which is always possible in this case. Idk what makes you think emma bought followers she was all the rage 7ish years ago and now is less impactful in the running scene. Makes sense engagment may not match follower amount.
Their numbers jibe with how high-profile I think of them. I actually thought Emma Bates would have more. They don't really have that many. Coburn has the most bc she won a Worlds and was in ESPN's body issue. Everyone on here thought of her as a golden goddess till then. Then predictably with some attention found outside of running circles, they turn on her. Stephanie Bruce probably has a lot of mom runners following her.
a wanna-be-actress-influencer friend of mine (well, not really friend, but I know her) bought followers on Instagram. every time she posts a photo it immediately gets around 10,000 likes. but over the course of a few days usually tops out at like 10,200. (the 200 are actual humans liking her photos)
so the best way to spot if someone is buying followers is look at how many likes one of their photos gets the moment they post it, then check back in a day. if it hasn't gone up it's a bot machine automatically liking their photos.
It's amazing the amount of anonymous slander that occurs on these boards. If everyone's identities were known, 99% of if would disappear. Don't want to get sued now do you? Easy to throw out all kinds of lies and accusations with zero evidence to back it up when folks don't know who you are.
So what if they did - of course you no proof. Many many celebrities, sports figures, and politicians buy followers as consulting companies they hire do that as SOP for clients. Orange man *Rump has done it for many years.

Sued for what ? Is saying buying followers bad? FYI it’s libel not slander. slander is spoken and libel is written.
When you buy followers it’s obvious and not a good look. Coburn jumped a lot the past year or so , it’s obvious. She also is not the same name she once was. Most HS kids now don’t know who she is
