The people who are most enthusiastic about running are high schoolers and some college kids. Drew Hunter had a huge following and went pro early, so the first five or so years of his pro career there was a big following. Now those people are out of college and don't care about running as much, and current high schoolers don't care about him and care about the younger current runners that they relate to more. So this is not surprising.
i was a freshman in 2017-2018 and the fast upperclassmen had met him and posted photos on insta meeting him. He was the coolest and fastest. Tinman elite was THE group for hs kids. I raced a kid wearing a tinman hat a a dual once. Their presence with my generation was crazy. We all kinda grew up and I don’t think he had that same luster for the new kids, the younger guys I work with don’t know Drew Hunter like that.
Looking very briefly at the channel, it would appear their audience wants to watch them train, not interview people.
it's literally just Sam Parsons interviewing his teammates while half asleep with occasional co-host Joey B which they also put out as a podcast. "yeah totally man/bro/dude like cool man/bro/dude..." riveting.
low effort. low quality. low engagement.
of course always on the mission to "move the sport forward" lol
As of a few months ago they were still getting 20k-50k (sometimes 200k+) views per video because their videos were well shot training or racing videos
Now they just do these lame interviews from the couch and get 1k-2k views
What a horrible pivot
As someone who works in the industry, I'm sure that the content they're posting now is just their off season filler stuff and they'll get back to workout content once they get rolling. I'm also sure that they've gone through some budget cuts and that's going to hurt their ability to put out high quality content.

This is in-season. Other groups are going hard to get ready for indoors. Kerr is getting ready for a world record attempt in 5 weeks. Other pro runners have trips to BU or Millrose that they are getting ready for.
5-8 weeks out from big races is the ideal time for workout videos. Some should also be in their most important phase of marathon training for the OT.
Other teams just got better at social media and also have performances to back it up -- case and point are the On guys with their podcast, vlogs, medals, and records. TME is literally just a bunch of guys who were okay in college who didn't want to get big boy jobs + Drew Hunter -- the biggest disappointment we've seen in a long time.

The whole group is pathetic. They are the Detroit Pistons of the 2023 pro running scene (the Pistons are 2-29 and have lost 28 straight games).
Normally I root for the underdog but the way TME fired Tom and stole his name made them villains in my mind.
Dude, get over all this "stole his name" and "villains" sh-t. It's pathetic at this point. The reason that the group/brand was popular and selling gear had everything to do with Drew's performance and the overall personality and social media presence of the group, and nothing to do with Tom. Yes, "Tinman" was his nickname but so what. The brand equity was due to the runners and he makes his living from the coaching business.
In case it's relevant, I was coached by Tom remotely for probably 18 months and spent a good hour on the phone with him at one point (he talks incessantly) though most of the interaction was email and text. I generally have goodwill towards him and wish him the best but (a) his training program is sound but is cookie-cutter and isn't individually tailored basically at all other than paces and volume, (b) relating to the last point, I don't think there's any evidence that he can and should be the coach of a successful pro group, and (c) though I know I'll get flamed by the usual right-wingers on here, his IG basically became a Tucker Carlson-inspired, conspiracy-theory mishmash during Covid. It sounds like the latter became hard to stomach for the group, though I don't have any sense that that was what caused the break, which was due to the mediocre coaching.

They are just lazy bums.
It's an Olympic year. Who cares about BU.
Indoor track helps. Drew Hunters best ever outdoor season was also the year he won the USATF indoor two mile. That was the year his teammates rabbited him in the slow section and the fast section was strategic.
Honestly, his best shot at hitting the Olympic standard is at BU, it's faster than outdoor tracks.
